Rebecca Taichman

Director Rebecca Taichman’s Off-Broadway credits include Kirsten Greenidge’s Luck of the Irish for Lincoln Center Theatre (LCT3), Greenidge’s Milk Like Sugar for Playwrights’ Horizons, and Sarah Ruhl’s Orlando for Classic Stage Company. Next season, Ms. Taichman will direct Ruhl’s Stage Kiss for Playwright’s Horizons. AMONG OTHERS, Ms. Taichman has directed regional theater productions of Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew, and A Winter’s Tale for The Shakespeare Theatre; the world premiere of David Adjmi’s The Evildoers and Marie Antoinette at Yale; and the world premiere of Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man’s Cell Phone at Woolly Mammoth. Next season, she will direct J. B. Priestley’s Time and the Conways for the Old Globe. Ms. Taichman is currently co-creating a new piece, Rehearsing Vengeance, in collaboration with Paula Vogel for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Yale Repertory Theater. Her opera credits include the world premiere of Dark Sisters, by Nico Muhly and Stephen Karam, for Gotham Chamber Opera, and Telemann’s Orpheus for New York City Opera.
